The Motorized UPPER French Quarter Tour is a celebration of the three hundred year anniversary of the founding of New Orleans by the French in 1718! During your tour, you will see many images on your personal hi-def monitor to help make New Orleans history come alive before your eyes!
You begin your tour with a brief visit to the Orleans Ballroom (when it is not in use). You’ll learn about the profound impact of the French Domination on New Orleans and Louisiana today.
Next, you will motor to the Gardette-Le Pretre Mansion to learn about the importance of folklore in New Orleans.
From there, you’ll pass by the historic J.B. Dubois house to see one of the finest examples of wrought-iron balconies in the city.
You will then stop for a visit at The Historic New Orleans Collection to see one of the city’s best courtyards.
Next, you’ll ride to Bienville Place to see the monument dedicated to the founders of New Orleans.
Then, you’ll sojourn to the Mississippi River to discover the role it played in the founding of New Orleans.
The tour ends at Jackson Square, where you will be provided with your choice of admission to either The Cabildo or The Presbytere!
Motorized UPPER French Quarter Tours begin at the Bourbon Orleans Hotel. It is located at 717 Orleans Street between Bourbon and Royal. You are welcome to wait in the lobby until your tour begins. You are invited to remain in the museum or return to your hotel on your own at the tour’s end.
